My first year of graduate school was one of the toughest of my life. I suddenly was in a program with some of the smartest people in the world, and I struggled with mastering skills and concepts quickly, producing new knowledge, and developing my research agenda. Although I had always been considered a high achiever, I was suddenly not the brightest star in the sky, and I found myself questioning my identity and significance. Moreover, being in a new place far from my family and friends and lacking the time to search for new friends left me feeling lonely and without support. Joining a GradCRU Bible Study Group during this first year was both sustaining and life-changing. Each week I found God transforming my mind through the texts that we studied, and I formed lasting and authentic friendships with the women in my group. Ultimately, God taught me that he will always provide for all my needs in his own way and timing and that I must view myself and my situation through a biblical lens. GradCRU Group Email List
The best way to know the most current information about Bible Study groups is to self-subscribe to the GradCRU Group Email List. Once each week we send a short email to inform everyone about upcoming events and opportunities with GradCRU. Usually there are one or two items that cover the next couple weeks. This email is a great way to know what is happening on campus with GradCRU and getting the latest (sometimes, last minute) details. The GradCRU Group Email List is used only to send the once-a-week emails. It is a private list and therefore not available to non-subscribers, and also moderated to help keep you from receiving any spam email.
You can self-subscribe to the Group Email List simply by providing your email address and name. Click on the link immediately below the “GET OUR GRADCRU EMAIL” at the top right of this page. After subscribing, you will receive an email from the automated “List Manager” asking you to confirm your subscription request. (You aren’t fully subscribed till you return this email. This safety feature helps to block spam). Should you desire, at any time you can self-delete your email address from the Group Email List. On the top of every Group List email there are easy to follow instructions about how to unsubscribe from the list — so no worries.
