GradCRU often sponsors (or co-sponsors with MichiganCRU and other campus ministries) events on campus — some targeted smaller venues and others campus-wide. Most will seek to engage the University in conversation about knowing God.
Over the years gradCRU initiated and led a number of campus-wide events, including: the initial Veritas Forum (5,600 attended five consecutive nights at Rackham Auditorium), a live debate on “Does God Exist” between noted philosopher Dr. William Lane Craig and U-M Philosophy Professor Dr. William Curley, and worldwide known speaker, Dr. Ravi Zacharias.
We were especially excited when the Q&A portion of Dr. Zacharias’ time at U-M was published in 2008 as a DVD, which is still available through RZIM. Here’s what the back cover of the DVD said,
“In February 2003, Ravi’s visit to the University of Michigan, one of the five largest universities in the United States, proved to be historic both for the university and for RZIM. For two nights, a standing-room only audience was captured as Ravi spoke and then followed with a 40-minute Q&A session. At the close of the second night, students and professors, who packed the auditorium, erupted into standing applause. It is our privilege to be able to share these Q&A sessions with you. The second in our Q&A series from university campuses, this dramatic volume answers questions on a variety of topics including Islam and its beliefs and the importance of a godly worldview. (1 hour)”
