International students at U-M come from more than 110 nations. International students involved from Austria, Canada, China, England, France, Ghana, Hungary, India, Jamaica, Japan, Kenya, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, and other nations have been involved with gradCRU. GradCru is a great opportunity for American and International graduate students to get to know each other and establish new friendships. (And, it’s a great way to practice your English.) International grad students are welcome to be involved with gradCRU in all the same ways that the American grad students are.
Many International graduate students are interested in our Men’s and Women’s Bible Studies. Most Internationals fit well within our Bible Study groups along with the American grads.
Some, who don’t consider themselves to be followers of Jesus are interested in our Investigative Bible Studies (IBS) to learn more about the Bible and knowing God in a casual, non-pressure discussion group. Email us (address below) to ask that we send you an email with more information about the IBS groups.
Some semesters (not fall of 2011) we host the English Speaking Club (ESC) to help International grads improve their communication skills, learn about American culture and American idioms, and develop their job interview skills.
Yu-Chen (Jane) Liu, who provides leadership for gradCRU with Internationals, would be glad to answer your questions about gradCRU. Email her at info.umich@gradcru.org , tell a little about yourself, and ask your questions. She will reply to your email and tell you more about gradCRU.
